Log Pile. Jan 2025
I was walking with my wife in the Campal park run by the Forest Department when I spotted this log pile. Loved the way the sun hit it through the trees overhead. And I stopped to make this image.
A log pile in the middle of an urban forest.
We love to create order from disorder. And yet, nature is a riot of disorder is it not?
We try to make sense of the events around us. Why did a loved one have to get sick or die? Why did misfortune befall me for no fault of my own? In human history, we’ve tried to make sense of the stars, even attributing human characteristics to celestial bodies. Our systems of religion, finance and politics are attempts at creating order.
And time and again we see these systems come crashing down.
We love to create order. But sometimes it’s good to let go.
