A rolling stone. That could sum up my career projectile to date. With each passing year and decade, I’ve sought to learn new tricks, seek new adventures, and move boundaries.

At the core, I’ve always loved storytelling, ever since I first wrote short stories for the school magazine at St Mary’s, Bombay. At the turn of the millennium, I joined an English daily to head the web edition. Over that 7-year newspaper stint, I’ve coded websites, redesigned the newspaper, wrote features for the Sunday edition, and produced photo-documentaries for print and web editions.

Then in 2007, at the start of the DSLR revolution, I decided to test the waters in video. Soon I was shooting and producing video features from across India for France-based Euronews Television. Through those travels, I felt just as much at home in rural India as in the metros of shining India, telling untold stories of development, education, and healthcare in an India that was seeing rapid growth and change.

Working with other filmmakers as editor, I soon realised I loved finding connections and helping bring stories to life. In the dark confines of the edit suite, I found new adventures rummaging through hours of rushes, building sequences. So, I turned my attention to documentary film editing.

Today I set up a boutique post-production studio in my hometown in Goa on the west coast of India where I try to help directors bring visions to the screen.

I can be greateful that this has been a busman’s journey and I’ve had fun all the way. What will tomorrow bring? I do not know. But I do know the adventures will continue…

And if it’s in the stars, we might even collaborate on a project (or two!). I’d sure love to hear from you.
