All we have is this moment. The eternal now. There is no tomorrow. No yesterday. Calangute, Goa. Dec 31 2024
Today is the first day of my “Photo a Day 2025” project. I want to use this as an exercise in seeing. But I am a bit hesitant. Will I be able to keep this up for an entire year?
For the first image, I took a walk down to the Calangute beach expecting hoards of tourists all over the beach for New Year’s eve. What began as a few hippies coming down to Goa in the 70s and 80s has today become an annual tourist mayhem, making the beach an eyesore.
My vision was to do a slow shutter photograph with the waves of the Arabian Sea on one side and the waves of the crowd on the other. A clash of nature vs humans. But when I got to the beach, I was surprised to find it relatively empty. And so I shifted my vision for the photograph.
The Eternal Now is my way of beginning my Photo a Day 2025 project and will be a reminder to slow down my shooting style (it has always been fast-paced documentatry).
Wish you a happy new year 2025. Stay creative. Stay Centered.
